HARDWICK, a parish in the hundred of DEPWADE,
county of NORFOLK, 3 miles (S. S. B.) from St. Mary
Stratton, containing 237 inhabitants. The living is a
discharged rectory with that of Shelton, in the archdeaconry
of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in
the king's books at £5. The church, dedicated to St.
Margaret, has a tower circular at the base, and octagonal
above. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan
Methodists.
