HARTLEY-WINTNEY, a parish in the hundred of ODIHAM, Basingstoke division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON, 1 mile (S. byW.) from Hartford-Bridge, containing, exclusively of the tything of Hazely-Heath, a part of which is in this parish, 935 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Winchester, rated in the king's books at £4. 0. 7., endowed with £ 300 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Paulet St. John Mildmay, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
