HAVERHOLM-PRIORY,a liberty (extra-parochial),
in the wapentake of FLAXWELL, parts of KESTEVEN,
county of LINCOLN, 4 miles (N. E.) from Sleaford. It
consists of an island, formed by the river Slea, containing
about three hundred acres. Here was a priory
of nuns and canons of the strict order of St. Gilbert
of Sempringham, founded in 1139, and dedicated to
the Virgin Mary, the revenue of which, at the dissolution,
