HOLDENHURST, a chapelry in the parish of CHRISTCHURCH, liberty of WESTOVER, New Forest (West) division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON, 3 miles (N. W. by W.) from Christchurch, containing 580 inhar bitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Christchurch, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Winchester. The navigable river Stour bounds the chapelry on the east and north.
