HOLTON, a parish in the hundred of BLYTHING,
county of SUFFOLK, 1 mile (E.N. E.) from Halesworth,
containing 399 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of
Norwich, rated in the king's books at £10. 13. 4., endowed
with £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage
of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Peter.
