HOPTON, a parish in the hundred of BLACKBOURN
county of SUFFOLK, 7 miles (N.E.) from Ixworth; con-
taining 524 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory,
in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of
Norwich, rated in the king's books at £13. 5., and in
the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated
to All Saints.
