HORNCLIFFE, a township in the parish of NORHAM,
otherwise Norhamshire, county palatine of DURHAM,
though locally to the northward of the county of Northumberland,
5 miles (W.S.W.) from.Berwick upon Tweed,
containing 351 inhabitants. From Horncliffe hall is a
fine prospect of the extensive plain of Merse, and the
luxuriant banks of the Tweed.
