HORSHAM (ST-FAITH), a parish in the hundred of TAVERHAM, county of NORFOLK, 4 miles (N.byW.) from Norwich, containing 735 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry and dioceseof Norwich, endowed with £400 royal bounty,.and £ 1200parliamentary grant. Viscount Ranelagh was patron in 1812. A priory of Black monks, dedicated to St. Faith, was founded here in 1105, by Robert Fitzwalter and Sibell de Cayneto, his wife; it was at first a cell to the abbey de Cenchis, in Normandy: at the dissolution its revenue was estimated at £193. 2. 3. Attached to this institution was an hospital, formerly belonging .to the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem.
