HORSINGTON, a parish in the southern division of
the wapentake of GARTREE, parts of LINDSEY, county of
LINCOLN, 4 miles (W.) from Horncastle, containing
322 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in
the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln; rated in the
king's books at £9. 11. 3., endowed with £200 private
benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage
of the President and Fellows of Magdalene College,
Oxford. The church is dedicated to All Saints.
