HULTON, or PEEL-HULTON (LITTLE), a chapelry in the parish of DEAN, hundred of SALFORD, county palatine of LANCASTER, 4 miles (S.) from Great Bolton, containing 2465 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Chester, endowed with £800 private benefaction, £400 royal bounty, and £2100 parliamentary grant. Lord Kenyon was patron in 1814. The chapel is dedicated to St. Paul. .
