HUMSHAUGH, a chapelry in the parish of SIMONBURN, north-western division of TINDALE ward, county of NORTHUMBERLAND, 5 miles (N. by W.) from Hexr ham, containing 334 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Northumberland, and diocese of Durham, and in the patronage of the Vicar of Simonburn. The chapel and parsonage-house were erected, and a cemetery formed, in 1818, at an expense of about £4000.
