HUNTINGFIELD, a parish in the hundred of
BLYTHING, county of SUFFOLK, 4 miles (W. S. W.) from
Halesworth, containing 386 inhabitants. The living is
a rectory with that of Cookley, in the archdeaconry of
Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's
books at £ 13. 6. 8., and in the patronage of Lord Huntingfield.
The church is dedicated to St. Mary. Berry
Snelling, in 1725, left a rent-charge of-£4 a year for
the instruction of children. Huntingfield gives the title
of baron to the family of Vanneck.
