ICKWORTH, a parish in the hundred of THINGOE, county of SUFFOLK, 2 miles (S.W.) from Bury-St.Edmund's, containing 82 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, united to that of Chedburgh, in the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £7. 11. 5., and in, the patronage of the Marquis of Bristol. The church has a chancel in the early style, and some windows in the decorated and later styles, of English architecture.
