KENTFORD, a parish partly in the hundred of
LACKFORD, but chiefly in that of RISBRIDGE, county of
SUFFOLK, 4 miles (N. E. by E.) from Newmarket, containing
109 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual
curacy, with the vicarage of Gazeley, in the archdeaconry
of Sudbury, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the
king's books at £7 3. 4., and in the patronage of the
Master and Fellows of Trinity Hall, Cambridge. The
church is dedicated to St. Mary.
