KENTISBERE, a parish in the hundred of HAYRIDGE,
county of DEVON, 3 miles (E. by N.) from
Cullompton, containing, with the parish of Blackborough,
1143 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's
books at £27. 18. 11 \,, and in the patronage of the
Wyndham family. The church, dedicated -to St. Mary,
has a fine wooden screen and rood-loft.
