KIDLINGTON, a parish in the hundred of WOOTTON,
county of OXFORD, 4 miles (E.S.E.) from Woodstock,
comprising the townships of Gosford, and Water-
Eaton, and the hamlet of Thrup, and containing
1153 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage not in
charge, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford,
and annexed to the Headship of Exeter College, Oxford.
The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is
a small endowment, the bequest of Roger Almont, for
teaching two children.
