KINGWATER, a township in the parish of LANERCOST-ABBEY,
ESKDALE ward, county of CUMBERLAND,
9 miles (N.E.) from Brampton, containing 331 inhabitants.
It derives its name from a stream formed by
several rills issuing from the mountains, which unite
to the northward of Gilsland.
