KNEESALL, a parish comprising the township of Omptbn in the South-clay division of the wapentake of BASSETLAW, and the hamlet of Kersall in the northern division of the wapentake of THURGARTON, county of NOTTINGHAM, 4 miles (S. E. by E.) from Ollerton, and containing 602 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the -archdeaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York, rated in the king's books at £10, and in the patronage of the Chapter of the Collegiate Church of Southwell The church is dedicated to St. Bartholomew.
