KNOOK, a parish in the hundred of HEYTESBURY,
county of WILTS, 1 mile (E. S. E.) from Heytesbury,
containing 268 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual
curacy, with that of Heytesbury, in the peculiar jurisdiction
of the Dean of Salisbury, endowed with £400
private benefaction, and £1000 royal bounty. The
church is dedicated to St. Margaret.
