LADOCK, a parish in the eastern division of the hundred of POWDER, county of CORNWALL, 4 miles (N. W.) from Grampound, containing 806 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £18. Lord and Lady Grenville were patrons in 1814. The church is dedicated to St. Ladoca. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. The small village of Pessick,.in this parish, is remarkable for the picturesque beauty of its situation. The Rev. John Elliott, in 1763, left £5 a year for teaching children.
