lathe of AYLESFORD, county of KENT, 4 miles (S. E.)
from Maidstone, containing 263 inhabitants. The living
is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury,
rated in the king's books at £6. 19. 9. Mrs
Bouverie was patroness in 1789. The church is dedicated
to St. Mary. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan
Methodists.
