LANGTON, a parish in the eastern division of the wapentake of WRAGGOE, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 1 mile (E. S. E.) from Wragby, containing 193 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £4. 13. 4., endowed with certain lands in reversion, private benefaction, and £ 200 royal bounty. Earl Manvers was patron in 1802. The church is dedicated to St. Giles.
