LANGTON (WEST), a chapelry in the parish of CHURCH-LANGTON, hundred of GARTREE, county of LEICESTER, 3 miles (N. by W.) from Market-Harborough, containing 90 inhabitants. Walter de Langton, Lord High Treasurer of England, a favourite of Edward I., was born here in 1296.
