LANGTREE, a parish in the hundred of SHEBBEAR,
county of DEVON, 3 miles (S. "w) from Great Torrington,
containing 778 inhabitants. The living is a rectory,
in the archdeaconry of Bamstaple, and diocese of Exeter,
rated in the king's books at £29. 1. 3., and in the patronage
of Lord Rolle. There was formerly a chapel at
Cross Hill in this parish.
