LAUGHTON, a parish in the hundred of GARTREE,
county of LEICESTER, 5 miles (W. by N.) from Market-
Harborough, containing 173 inhabitants. The living is
a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and diocese
of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £10. 10. 5.,
and in the patronage of the Rev. Mr. Humfrey. The
church is dedicated to St. Luke. The Grand Union
canal passes along the southern boundary of this parish.
