LAYHAM, a parish in the hundred of COSFORD,
county of SUFFOLK, 1 mile (S. byE.) from Hadleigh,
containing 595 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in
the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese of Norwich,
rated in the king's books at £16. 0. 7., and in the
patronage of the Master and Fellows of St. John's
College, Cambridge. The church is dedicated to St.
Andrew.
