LEIGH (NORTH), a parish in the hundred of WOOTTON, county of OXFORD, 3 miles (N. E. by N.) from Witney, containing 592 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £9. 2., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. Ann Perrott, in 1788, bequeathed a small sum for the education of seven children.
