LEWKNOR, a parish partly in the hundred of DESBOROUGH, county of BUCKS, but chiefly in the hundred of LEWKNOR, county of OXFORD, 3 miles (S. S. E.) from Tetsworth, containing, with the chapelries of Potscombe, Ashamstead, and Uphill, 691 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £11. 17, and in the patronage of the Warden and Fellows of All Souls' College, Oxford. The church is dedicated to St. Margaret.
