LILFORD, a parish in the hundred of HUXLOE, though locally in that of Polebrook, county of NORTHAMPTON, 3 miles (S. byW.) from Oundle, containing, with Wigsthorpe, 130 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, with the rectory of Thorpe-Achurch, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £7. 12. 3., and in the patronage of Lord Lilford. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. Lilford confers the title of baron on the family of Powys.
