LINCHMERE, a parish in the hundred of EASEBOURNE, rape of CHICHESTER, county of SUSSEX, 7 miles (N, by W.) from Midhurst, containing 282 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Chichester, endowed with £10 per annum and £200 private benefaction, £600 royal bounty, and £300 parliamentary grant.
