LITTON, a hamlet in the parish of TIDESWELL,
hundred of HIGH-PEAK, county of DERBY, half of a mile
(E. S. E.) from Tidswell, containing 710 inhabitants.
The celebrated non-conformist divine, William Bagshaw,
commonly called the Apostle of the Peak, was
born here in 1628.
