LLANGWYM, a parish comprising the higher and lower divisions, in the upper division of the hundred of USK, county of MONMOUTH, 3 miles (E.) from Usk, containing 337 inhabitants, of which number, 41 are in the higher, and 296 in the lower, division. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Llandaff, rated in the king's books at £4. 16. 8., endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Prebendary of Llangwym in the Cathedral Church of Llandaff. The church is dedicated to St. Hierom.
