LLANSAINTFREAD, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of ABERGAVENNY, county of MONMOUTH, 3 miles (S. E.) from Abergavenny, containing 28 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Llandaff, rated in the king's books at £2. 13. ll., endowed with £200 private benefaction, £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of William Jones, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Bride. The rivers Tannat and Verniew form a junction near the village.
