LLANWERN, a parish in the lower division of
the hundred of CALDICOTT, county of MONMOUTH, 3
miles (S. E) from Caerleon, containing 27 inhabitants.
The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry
and diocese of Llandaff, rated in the king's books at
£4. 0. 10., endowed with £400 royal bounty, and in
the patronage of Sir Thomas Salusbury, Bart. The
church is dedicated to St. Mary.
