LODSWORTH, a chapelry in the parish of EASEBOURNE, and hundred of EASEBOURNE, rape of CHICHESTER, county of SUSSEX, 3 miles (W. by N.) from Petworth, containing 513 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Chichester, endowed with £200 private benefaction, £200 royal bounty, and £500 parliamentary grant. W. S. Poyntz, Esq. was patron in 1808. The Rother, or Arundel, navigation is crossed by a bridge in this parish.
