LUCKHAM, a parish in the hundred of CARHAMPTON, county of SOMERSET, 4 miles (W. by S,) from Minehead, containing 481 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Taunton, and diocese of Bath and Wells, rated in the king's hooks at £14. 3. 6., and in the patronage of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. The river Homer runs through the parish. Ironore is found in great abundance, and is said to have been worked here more than a century ago. There are several mineral springs in the neighbourhood.
