LUDDENDEN, a chapelry in the parish of HALIFAX, wapentake of MORLEY, West riding of the county of YORK, 3 miles (w. by N.) from Halifax, with which the population is returned. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of York, endowed with £400 private benefaction, £ 600 royal bounty, and £1800 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Vicar of Halifax. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
