LYNG, a parish in the hundred of EYNSFORD,
county of NORFOLK, 6 miles (N. E. byE.) from East
Dereham, containing 581 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, with that of Whitwell, in the archdeaconry of
Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's
books at £11. Edward Lombe, Esq. was patron in
1827. The church is dedicated to St. Michael.
