MANSERGH, a chapelry in the parish of KIRKBY-LONSDALE, LONSDALE ward, county of WESTMORLAND, S miles (N. N. W.) from Kirkby-Lonsdale, containing 157 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Richmond, and diocese of Chester, endowed with £400 private benefaction, and £600 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Vicar of Kirkby-Lonsdale. The chapel, dedicated to St. Peter, was built in 1726, by the subscriptions of Jacob Dawson and others. The river Lune runs through the ohapelry.
