MARKSBURY, a parish in the hundred of KEYNSHAM, county of SOMERSET, 3 miles (E. by S.) from Pensford, containing, with the tything of Houndstreet, 354 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Wells, and diocese of Bath and Wells, rated in the king's books at £ 10. 4. 2., and in the patronage of General Popham.
