MATLASK, a parish in the northern division of the
hundred of ERPINGHAM, county of NORFOLK, 6 miles (S.E.
by E.) from Holt, containing 184 inhabitants. The living
is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk,
and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £5,
endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal
bounty, and in the patronage of the King, as Duke 01
Lancaster. The church is dedicated to St. Peter.
