METHAM, a township in the parish of HOWDEN,
wapentake of HOWDENSHIRE, East riding of the county
of YORK, 5 miles (S. E. by E.) from Howden, containing
45 inhabitants. A Roman pottery, including fragments
of urns and other vessels, has been discovered here;
about a mile from which the ancient Roman military
way passes.
