MOSSER, a chapelry in the parish of BRIGHAM, ALLERDALE ward above Darwent, county of CUMBERLAND, 45 miles (S.) from Cockermouth, containing 102 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Richmond, and diocese of Chester, endowed with £ 1200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Earl of Lonsdale. The chapel is dedicated to St. Philip. There are a few trifling donations for the education of children.
