MOTTISTON, a parish in the liberty of WEST-MEDINA,
Isle of Wight division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON,
5 miles (S.E.) from Yarmouth, containing
149 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, united to the
vicarage of Shorewell, in the archdeaconry and diocese
of Winchester, rated in the king's books at
£11. 16. 3. The church, dedicated to St. Peter and
St. Paul, is principally in the later English style.
