MURSTON, a parish in the hundred of MILTON, lathe of SCRAY, county of KENT, 1 mile (B. S. E.) from Milton, containing 141 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury, rated in the king's books at £ 10. 14. 2., and in the patronage of the Rev. Dr. Poore. The church, dedicated to All Saints, is a spacious edifice, with a square western tower and wooden turret. The parish is bounded on the north by the Swale, which separates the Isle of Sheppy from the main land. William Houssin, in 1783, bequeathed £200, directing the interest to be applied in teaching poor children of Bapchild, Murston, and Tonge.
