NARFORD, a parish in the southern division of the hundred of GREENHOE, county of NORFOLK, 4 miles (N. W.) from Swaffham, containing 129 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, with that of Narburgh, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £6.13.4. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. This seems to have been a Roman station, from the bricks, urns, and other relics that have been discovered.
