NAVENBY, a parish (formerly a market-town) in the higher division of the wapentake of BOOTHBY-GRAFFO, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 9 miles (N. W. byN.) from Sleaford, and 120 (N. byW.) from London, containing 625 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated' in the king's books at £17. 10., and in the patronage of the Master and Fellows of Christ's College, Cambridge. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, is partly in the early English, and partly in the decorated, style of architecture. There is a place of worship forWesleyan Methodists. The market, which was held on Thursday, has fallen into disuse. There is a trifling endowment for teaching nine poor children.
