NEEDHAM, a parish in the hundred of EARSHAM
county of NORFOLK, ij mile (S. w.) from Harleston
containing 351 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual
curacy, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of
Norwich, endowed with £200 private benefaction, and
£1000 royal bounty, and in the patronage of-Preston,
Esq. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, -was
originally a chapel to Mendham.
