NETTLECOMBE, a parish in the hundred of WILLITON-and-FREEMANNERS,
county of SOMERSET, 7
miles (N. byW.) fromWiveliscombe, containing 372 inhabitants.
The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
of Taunton, and diocese of Bath and Wells, rated in
the king's books at £ 16. 16. 3., and in the patronage
of Sir J. Trevelyan, Bart. The church, dedicated to St.
Mary, is a small but handsome edifice. A school-house
was erected.at the expense of the late Sir John Tre
velyan, in which the poor children of the parish are
taught.
