NEWNHAM, a parish in the hundred of FAWSLEY, county of NORTHAMPTON, 2 miles (S. S. E.) from Daventry, containing 574 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, with the vicarage of Badby, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough. The church, dedicated to St. Michael, exhibits portions in the various styles of English architecture. The business of lace-making has been introduced into this parish. Thomas Randolph, the poet and dramatist, was bom here, in 1605.
